Equip:
HP iPAQ 1940
WM 2003
TomTom 3
TT Wired GPS
TT Car Kit (for 1940)

I just purchased and installed TT3. The Wizard started up and asked what GPS was connected. I selected wired GPS and TT started up.
It immediately started browsing for Bluetooth devices. I had to cancel this down three times before I could access the menu, several short lock-ups later (10-12 seconds).

I changed the GPS setting from 'Bluetooth Serial Port COM 8' to 'COM 3' and the PPC locked up, requiring a reset.
I had to go through the whole procedure again, this time changing the setting to 'Serial on USB' (I am not sure which setting I actually need).

This time I could access the menus etc, but there is still no link indication between PPC & GPS on the Status page, and the main page indicates 'GPS unreliable' or somesuch. The unit and GPS were left in the car powered up for about 3 hours and still didn't aquire a signal. The GPS LED blinks green.

I downloaded and installed the 3.0.3 updates and it is still the same. I have uninstalled and re-installed TT into main memory, iPAQ storage area and onto a SD card, but no difference.

The TT 'User Manual' and support pages on the website are very poor (IMO) and I have been at this for two days now. It is driving me nuts. Can sombody please help?

Thanks, Phil.

I think the two settings you need are the same as the ones I use, and can be amended in the GPS screen.....

"TomTom Navigator GPS" and "Serial Cable on COM1"

You will need to untick he box in the GPS screen befor you can change them.......

Once you get it working you will be impressed!!

Thanks for reply Steve

I don't have this option in the drop down list. I contacted TT, who say that the wired GPS is not compatible with the iPAQ 1940.

eBuyer will not take the package back as I have broken the CD seal & installed the software. Hmmm... anyone got a spare BT mouse out there????

Phil.
