IMPORTANT: Your question or comment will be more efficiently responded to in the forums, after all, that is what they are there for!
Q. Why don't you offer phone support?
A. Like many other busy Internet sites (30,000 visits a day) it is far more efficient to deal with queries either by email or on the forums. If we gave out a phone number we would be inundated with calls (from experience) and would be unable to run the site. Support issues can usually be dealt with a lot more quickly using email (usual time to write is about 30 seconds). A phone call invariably takes a lot longer than 30 seconds, often running up to 10 minutes - 9 of which are often unnecessary as, inevitably, some callers like to chat.
Support Questions
For all support requests please visit our Forums. We frequent our forums on a near hourly basis and not only can we respond to requests in the forums quicker than email, but by posting Support Requests in our forums also helps others who are experiencing the same problem get a resolution to their problem. Also when time is precious and we aren't in the forums, there is still a wealth of knowledge from other GPS Users which can help resolve a problem especially when they have the same equipment as you.

Darren Griffin
Director/Editor
Darren@PocketGPSWorld.com
Darren has been involved with computers since the glory days of the home build Sinclair ZX80 (it didn't work first time!) and became an internet user back in 1996. A love of gadgets and electronics was studiously ignored when he chose a career track in the Army and having served 12 years there and 8 years a Police Officer he finally succumbed and joined the IT industry working as a field engineer and finally running an IT Consultancy. However he now works full time on PocketGPSWorld.
Involved with PDA's since the Apple Newton (he still has one!) and GPS since it became commercially available, Darren who lives in Hampshire, England is a confessed gadget freak and recent convert to Apple Mac's. His long suffering wife has become used to the myriad of computers, satnav's and assorted other 'toy's and his daughter is quickly become a gadget obsessive too!
Hobbies include aviation, cars, motorcycles and many more! When not spending every waking hour working on the web-site he can be found indulging his aviation hobby, getting muddy in his Land Rover or riding his motorbikes.

Mike Barrett
Director/Editor
Mike@PocketGPSWorld.com
Mike Barrett was one of the group of students to take the first GSE 'A' Level in Computer Science back in the 70's. Following on from that he started working with computers with 8k (yes kilobytes) which filled an entire computer room. In the early 80's Mike started programming the Acorn Atom and later the BBC Micro before the IBM PC was originally invented. Mike's experience encompasses the entire range of industries from Finance, to Manufacturing, to Retail. He has been involved in the complete development lifecycle for software projects commissioned for some of the World's best known corporate names.
Starting his career before the invention of the PC and the Internet as we now know it Mike has been involved in creating global communications solutions. In the late 80's and early 90's when the Internet was in an embryonic stage Mike was using the same technologies that were used to build the Internet. Currently Mike runs Black Widow Web Weavers Ltd a design company focusing on Web development particularly in the more technical areas including the design and development of database driven solutions. His hobbies include Hill Walking, Photography, and Emerging Technologies. Mike is an accredited TMB (Technology Means Business) Adviser and is a regular presenter of Seminars and Workshops for Essex BusinessLink.

Lutz Bendlin
Editor
Lutz@PocketGPSWorld.com
Lutz started life in Görlitz (Eastern Germany, at the border to Poland). Raised in Dresden (some 150 miles south of Berlin), went to basic and High school there specialising in Mathematics and Physics. Had first contact with a ZX81 and programmed an electronic Rubik's cube on it... In 1985 he went to study Automation at a prestigious military university in Kiev (that's the capital of the Ukraine, a country formerly part of the USSR). Interestingly enough the study was held completely in Russian.
In 1990, just after Lutz successfully finished his study the Bundeswehr decided that his team's works were way too hot a topic to keep. Without much regret he then left the army and went to Bavaria, working for a number of high tech companies, strangely enough starting in a department for production automation Other jobs included document management system setups, PC help desk, and complete office IT setups in exciting places like Greece, Turkey, Israel etc. Finally Lutz found a profession home in everything electronic commerce. He has recently moved from a regional role (informational eCommerce for global customers), in Munich, Germany to a world wide role (business-to-business integration) in Houston, TX, USA.
Lutz came to GPS Navigation after he heard that SA was turned off. Biggest impact so far was the phenomenal support received from the GPS application on his iPAQ while house hunting in Houston. When not torturing his wife with the latest navigation software tests he is spending his time with programming for Pocket PCs, finding ways to "always be online", bicycling and moderate hiking/mountain climbing. He has the Pocket PC bike mount fitted with an extra battery compartment. It worked reasonable well on a number of bike trips, as did the solar charger. But the quest for the optimal outdoor power source continues

Robert Brady
Business Editor / Director
Robert@PocketGPSWorld.com
Back in the early 80s, when Robert first got hooked on computing, he decided to write all of his own accounting software with his shiny new Commodore 64. Whilst he says this was very enjoyable and hugely satisfying, when all the code (and months of hard work) was complete, he actually found it quicker to use pen and paper! He decided to leave the coding side of things to others. After a brief fling with composing computer generated music on the C64 (painfully bad, he says), Robert never touched another computer for about 10 years.
Then came the World Wide Web. After a freelance career in customer service management and executive research, Robert got very excited about the possibilities and potential of this new tool for e-commerce. He established his first website, in 1995. It was the first comprehensive online shopping directory. It links to millions of sites, services and products and now has over 800 advertisers, showing up to 10 million ads monthly. He is also the owner of over 30 newer business-to-business and consumer websites including Ed-u.com, the Education Mega-Site.
Robert also provides marketing and e-commerce services for several other websites, including multinational and international corporations and has been successful in creating substantial and sustainable business for many companies. Along with fellow PocketGPSWorld.com team member Mike Barrett, he was recognised by the UK Government E-Commerce Awards for the marketing and development of the best new UK e-commerce site for 2003.
