Thumbs Up Hello all!,
i am looking to buy a good, reliable gps system. Solely for in-car use. Can you tell me is the Ipaq 5550 any good?, coupled with either tomtom 3 or Navman- which is the better of the two ??.
I've also hear Tomtom have released it's all in one package 'GO' (tomtom.com), how much is this?, and would this be better?
Any advice would be gratefully recieved!

Cheers guys! :D

The iPAQ 5550 is way too good for pure in care use. It has Wireless LAN and tons of RAM - would be a shame to have such a good machine sit there do nothing most of the time.

I have read from numerous places that a lot of people tend to have problems with the BT GPS and the Ipaq line. Specifically with dropped connections, but your mileage may vary...

I have a BT receiver and iPAQ 2210
I have not suffered from dropped connections in the three months of owning them so far!

TomTom are releasing their all-in-one GO and navman are soon to release their all-in-one PiN.

As for TomTom or navman, they are both good products in their own right.
TomTom offers you custom Points of interest
Navman offers you full European maps.

You need to weigh up what you want against what each product offers, weigh up the costs and then decide.

Well, I don't know, still trying to answer the same question myself.

It seems some people don't get dropped connections, but from all the posts in the HP/Brighthand/GpsPassion forums, if your somebody who does, the problem is never ending and seemingly without solution.

So, I am leaning towards an Axim x3i with integrated bluetooth.
