TOMTOM Ipaq 4150 Car Kit????

Why is there no bespoke carkit for the Ipaq 4150?

They have one for everything else, and I love the TOMTOM car kit, but why won't they do one for my 4150?

Any ideas or suggestions for a good alternative rather than wires hanging down from a universal cheapo cradle?

take the one for the 19xx series, disassemble it, turn the connector 180 degrees, reassemble.

why don't tomtom do one for it if it is only a case of turning it around?

is this easy to do, as not very technical!

I bought a 1940 cradle for my 4150 and did the mod as you suggested.

Works a treat. (Well still looking for a lock on but I'm sure it will soon. I've had a busy day and not stayed long enough in one place to get a proper satellite fix)

I'm just a bit worried that the cradle seems a tight fit and dont want to scratch my brand new 4150!!

I must admit it seems OK so far just some light chaffing on the rear of the PDA which rubs off.

The best bit is this the cradle had been returned and was reduced to £25 and comes complete with vent mount and hard wiring.

The Seidio 2500 mount is one of the best active car mounts I have come across. Take a look at http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/viewprod.php?product_id=2082 , they do a specific mount for the 4150.

The Brodit kit works well with my 4150 and its ability to be wired direct to the 12v supply helps. However, its not cheap - £70 including the proclip:

I have been able to hide the wiring and the kit looks great. I'll post a photo if I get time.
