Hi,
Bought a Tomtom GO 500 on Monday which is superb, and naturally wanted to get a blue tooth phone to make the most of it, and bought a Sony Ericsson V600i to go with it.
I've successfully paired the 2 devices together and everything looks great until I make a call. The tomtom lets me dial a number and my phone dials the number, however when the phone connects to the dialled line, I am unable to hear the person at the other end, and they are unable to hear me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same problem with a SE K705i which I have upgraded to the latest firmware and it using with a TTG500.
I also have a SE K700i which works fine. Slightly annoying since one is a work mobile and the other private.
Anyone have any ideas?

| Tried it with my girlfriend's samsung, and it works fine. That will teach me for buying the "latest" mobile phone. I thought bluetooth was supposed to be an industry standard, not something that was so hit and miss! |

| I spoke to SonyEricsson support this morning with little success although they did tell me that the K750i uses Bluetooth V2. They suggested speaking with TT about it. I have sent TT support an email although I don't expect much success. |

Already aware of that thanks. :D
My issue is that its bluetooth which is "supposed" to be universally compatible and the basics of setting up a mobile call should be possible. Whether the problem lies with TT or SE its needs to be resolved. Stating that it is not compatible is just an excuse for them not to resolve the issue. What they should be saying if it does not work is that they are non compliant with bluetooth (maybe V2 in this case).
Note that I would not expect all features to work (transferring phone book ect), but call setup is the very basic and I would say a core feature.
I don't know bluetooth that well, but been well versed in other telecommunication protocols I'm familiar with this line that manufacturers try to use. |

What evidence can you give that it is an SE issue. Something I can use when speaking to them. The last time I tried they fobbed me off saying it was a TT issue. I've yet to hear from TT on my request for information on their take on the matter.

Because the K750i exhbits exactly the same symptoms with a number of Bluteooth headsets (the HS850 being one for example). There is something really buggy with their new Bluetooth 2.0 implementation - there are numerous people on the forums at Esato who have reported various bluetooth problems. The K750i even had problems (until the first firmware update) with their own HBH-300/660/662 headsets.
On the basis that the Go does no exhibit these problems with anything other than then K750i/V/K600i/W800i you can be fairly sure its SE's problem and not TT's. |

Other than the K750i I don't know of any others at the moment. |

Should have also said, strictly speaking BT 2.0 is fully backwards compatible with BT1.x - especially since we are talking about the handsfree profile here and not one of the newer proiles.
Can't believe SE appear to be using the "its because its BT 2.0 argument." |
