|
|
I recently upgraded from TTN3 to TTN5 for my Ipaq 2210. Now when i navigate to a place using the PostCode feature, i only get the 4/5 figure postcode option !. My dad has the TomTom Go 300 and he can type in the exact postcode, why is this ?. On the link from TomTom it said if i upgraded then i would get the FULL postcode search facility, but i can only search as far as, for e.g SR1 5 !!! then it gives me a list of streets in the SR1 5 area, my dad can input SR1 5AA and pinpoint the exact street !. What am i doing wrong ? |

When you tap Navigate to ... are you using the Address or the Postcode icon?
If Address, tap the arrow for next page and use Postcode. _________________ Richard

Assuming you've loaded the postcodes from your CD then put a new directory in either the route of your SD card ot PDA (wherever youve installed your maps) called "tomtom". It doesn't need anything in it. You should then have full postcodes.

just looked on the CD, cannot find any files which look like they might be postcodes. just have cline, cname, cnode, faces, mapinfo, poi, tmccodes and traffic in the Uk map bit ?. Using my dad's SD card he got with the TomTom Go 300 doesn't reveal the FULL postcodes either !!! hmmmm |

When asked to install the maps (UK on CD1) you have, from memory, UK, UK Plus and Postcode. Install the UK map first then the postcodes approx 9Mb.
Hope this helps.

I'm still having the same problem. After adding the "Postal" file to both root on the card where the maps are and also where tomtom is installed and using the Postcode on the navigate screen not Address.
I also have an ipaq 2210 . |

Have you put a new directory called "tomtom" in the route of the card. It doesn't need anything in it, tomtom apparently looks for a "tomtom" directory first then map etc. If it can see a directory named tomtom it will find the postcodes.

To avoid confusion could you list where the app, map and postcode data are?

I have solved the problem, which I think is of my own doing.
When I installed TT5, I installed the Great Britain Plus map thinking this was better !!!!! The Postcode finder doesn't work with the GB plus map only with the standard map..
Hope this helps someone as well |

Are you sure?? I have only installed the GB+ maps and postcode is working for me!!
With the GB maps you get:
GB+
GB
Postcode
I installed Postcode first (which installs a file in the x:\zip).. Then I installed GB+, but at the end I saw that it automatically installs the Postcode.
If you can't get Postcode search working with the + maps, I think you still have a problem.
Does anyone know if I can put the 'zip' folder anywhere else? I use my SD for loads of things and don't like having this folder under 'root'... Saying that, it would be nice to have ALL of the TomTom related stuff under one folder.. |
