hi, have been though the posts but can not find the answer, so, is there a way of deleting the addresses I have put into my TTG, thank you.

Only by adding more so the ones you don't want fall off the bottom of the list.
Favourites and PoIs can be deleted, but not Recent Destinations and the ones left in the searches. |

There is a way of doing it - but not from any menu within TTG - you have to connect it to a PC (or put the SD card in a PC-based card reader/writer).
Assuming you're using Great Britain maps, recent destinations (and possibly favourites too) are held in a file called Great-Britain-Map.cfg
You need to over-write this file with a copy of its initial version from the time when the maps were loaded - so it's dependent on having made a backup on day 1. [It's possible that you could just delete the file, and a new default one would be created - but I'm not sure about this. If you want to try this, just re-name it by changing .cfg to .$$$ or something, so that you can re-name it back again if it doesn't work]
