Hi Ian,
Quick checklist:
1. Load both the OV2 and BMP files to the same folder as your map data.
2. Ensure that TTNav is shut down, and then restart it.
3. In “Properties”, look for the check box and camera logo. If you can't see it then try a soft reboot and go back to the Properties.

Hi Ian,
Are you running a lot of POIs?
If you are, then back up your POIs and their BMP files and delete a few and then do a soft reboot. I don't know if this advice will work but it's worth a go as long as you back up first!

Are you using the Pocket GPS Camera database (which is downloadable) from this site? Or are you using the separate speed (i.e. 30, 40, 50, etc.) limits from the CheckPOInt Sync web site? _________________ Robert.

I'm actually running both the CheckPO camera database and also the Pocket GPS one and I didnt rename either they both appeared on my POI's checked the boxes and they now both appear on the map.
There is one question I would like to ask though. The Pocket GPS Database is excellent and works great. However, if you put in .wav files to warn you of cameras it also picks up the cameras on the other side of the carriageway as well as the ones in the middle of the road and the ones on the side I am driving on. I have changed the "angle" from default 25 to 15 degrees but that doesnt work.
Is there anyway to stop the warnings from the other side of the carriageway does anyone know? |

No, any database is going to do this. Why ? Because GPS isn't 100% accurate. It can be as accurate as 3m if you use WAAS, but WAAS isn't much use in-car at speed, so you'll usually get anything from 5 to 15m accuracy which will mean that you will pickup cameras on other sides of the road.
The problem is two fold.
Firstly people may press the button when they see a camera on the other side of the road knowing full well they aren't going to come back the opposite way and they want to record the camera.
The main issue is with the detection software. None of it will actually detect the direction you are travelling. If it did, then it could easily isolate cameras on the other side of the road, but CheckPOInt, POI-Warner and GPSAssist all use angles rather than directional control. |

Hi Dave
Thanks very much for the info. I would just like to say you and all your colleagues do a great job in both compiling a database like that and also for answering our questions on this forum.
Thanks very much

Thanks Howard, we will be increasing the accuracy of the database, but until we have any software that will detect the direction you are driving rather than an arc, we are still going to see problems being notified on other carriageways. |
