Hello,
have several requirements and I believe the Geko 201 will satisfy them, but I'd appreciate some advice before buying it.
1) Want a really lightweight unit for when I'm out cycling.
2) Would like to be able to download routes (that I have prebuilt on a PC) so it will tell me when and which way to turn, should I need that. In which case mostly I'd use it for confirmation when I'm lost rather than needing turn by turn all the time, so it would be more a case of 'oh I'm lost I'll look at the Geko and see which way to go' rather than watching it all the time.
2a) Would like to be able to load the actual route I took back into a PC for later analysis.
3) Would like to be able to use it with my Palm T3 to display maps and turn by turn directions for when I am in a car.
So, given the above, is a Geko a good choice, and as I already have a Palm T3, does the Geko still sound like a good idea? Can it do what I want, is there a better alternative (at, say under £150 or so, given you can get the geko for around £100).
What would I need to get for the Palm T3 connectivity? Tom Tom? What cable? Anything else?
The primary use is for when cycling, so the T3 connectivity would be a a 'nice to have', it shouldnt sway what I get too much. For long cycling trips (all day, for several days), is the Geko a good choice (given it takes ordinary batteries...is there an alternative with rechargeables I might be better off getting?
