I was experimenting this morning with adding POI’s when I disconnected the usb cable I moved over to the window to enable it to recive a GPS signal which it did but now it does not load up any maps.

Tried resetting and checked that the map data is still on the SD card it gets a GPS signal but just says got to nearest road at the bottom of the screen

Have I broke it

Any thing I can try

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Managed to get it back by un-ticking all the maps on the map on memory card screen then going back in and ticking all the maps

seems to be ok now.

I've experienced similar map-loss problems ....shocked at first ...then irritated but now I know what to do.

I found that leaving the unit switched on, taking out my memory card & sliding it back in forced the unit to re-load whatever was on there. The map data returns each time.

The only peculiarities I've not solved are the speed cameras ...the data always loads BUT sometimes the icons aren't visible for one of the camera types. I find the icon recognition a bit hit & miss ...unless its my competence that's hit & miss, of course !

M62-to-Hull,

Have you installed the Service Pack for your iCN. This appears to have cured the invisible Custom POI phenomenon, at least for the PiN/PPC version. iCN users have reported the same....

Yes, with your iCN connected to said desktop, anyway. I don't have an iCN either, otherwise I'd be able to tell you the software version to expect.

Oh well, it was worth a try. Mind you, if you connect your iCN to your PC and look for updates again using the iCN Desktop, it'll tell you if one is available. If two or three of the numbers in the lefthand column show 1 as opposed to 0 then it's definitely updated.

Heay, thanks. I thought I'd successfully updated my 510 but with those build numbers and dates, I could see that I hadn't managed. Done it and can already see some of the improvements. I hope map data updates are as easy ...yeah, right !
