|
|
Hi,
First let me tell that I love iGO8, it beats TomTom and Navigon in every posible way. Except one that is; startup time.
I used earlier versions of iGo but since the R3 release the startup on my HTC device is horible. It 'splash screen' comes up instantly, but it take more then 30 seconds before the "Init API" messages appears. After that is startup is quicker then in the R1 release, but still, it almost needs a full minute to start. In earlier versions the startup was much faster.
I searched several forums, but I cou'ldn't find an answer. Maybe the guru's here knows what could be wrong.
Cheers, and thanks for your time,

Do you use the slow starting version of a different memorycard than the quick starting version?
Could be card speed where this problem finds its origin. |

the newest release claims to have reduced memory usage - perhaps this ends up with the longer start time?

With my Mio P350 I don't exit iGO I just switch it off, on re-start iGO is there ready and waiting for a sat fix, where times vary according to when I last used it - from almost instantly to a couple of minutes.
If I need to go to Calendar or Contacts I Minimize iGO. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Hi,
Although I don't like the solution it did solve the 90 second startup time: hard reset. Weirdest thing is even though I restored my full SPB Backup I made that morning iGO now starts fast again. Only a 5 second wait time before the Init API message desplays.
Really weird, and bummer that I didn't find a cause, but the solution seems to be to make a full backup of your device with Sprite Backup or SPB Backup, do a hard reset and restore the backup.
Cheers,

I had the same problem, I think due to M2D or TF3d on a HTC Kaiser. Without those programs it runs fine. Total startup time about 30 secs |
