HERE maps, the Nokia owned mapping app, has undergone a major rewrite and renamed HERE WeGo. The latest updates for Android and iOS include new functionality and a fresh new design.
The new app has been designed to provide its users with a solution that integrates all the many transport options now available - from public transport to bike, taxi, car-share and more. With route planning at its centre alongside directions it provides voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation for 130+ countries (with or without an internet connection), public transport info for 1,200 cities and live traffic in 55 countries.
Many of these features will also be available in a web app, coming soon at wego.here.com/.

Sadly their POI are rubbish. 6 months ago I reported closed shops, shops in the wrong place, and a golf course that closed over 2 years ago and is now a housing estate.
Those are still all wrong in HERE WeGo today.
The app jumps straight to a route, so you cannot easily check whether the place it is routing you to is correct. And sadly you do need to do that.
The app makes great play of "Nearby " but the pop up shows car hire on the front page (fairly little used) and Fuel (much more useful) on the second page. It doesn't have a link to car parks - pretty damned useful if you are going somewhere you don't know well.
If I didn't use Here on the PC to send locations to my car, I'd not touch it with a bargepole.
PS. I thought Nokia sold it years ago, and it was now owned by a consortium of car manufacturers? _________________ Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Nexus 5, Galaxy tab S3. Also use OSMAnd+, Sygic Mobile Maps, and OS maps app. Also "Great Britain Topo Maps" and "Old Maps". Don't use speed camera database as sticking to the limit is safer.
